Whats on in Sydney
Sydney is a beautiful city and a fantastic place to explore. With its eye-opening art, theatre and exhibitions, world class sporting events, amazing nightlife and cultural events, and stunning harbours and beaches, there is truly something for everyone.
2014 Sydney Easter Activities & Events
Well another start to a year is flying by and whether you see this as a good or bad thing, the great news is the first significant break of the year will be upon us soon. Of course I’m referring to the Easter Break and signs of this have been gradually infiltrating the supermarket and department store shelves.
Not only does the Easter period signify an extra long weekend to rest your weary bones, it also represents a period of heightened activity around the city and with hopefully some free time, an opportunity to enjoy some of the following:
The Royal Easter Show is one of Sydney’s most exciting and iconic annual events and Australia’s largest attracting close to 1 million people each year. With humble beginnings as an agricultural show in 1823, it is now a must do for international visitors and locals alike.
Now if roller coasters, fairy floss and dog shows aren’t your cup of tea, you will be equally spoilt for choice in and around the Sydney CBD.
For the sport lovers there will be four NRL games scheduled at Sydney grounds spread across the long weekend and hopefully some Sydney venues for the A-League finals series (depending on the teams playing)
For the shoppers there will be markets a plenty with all the favourites including The Rocks Markets and Paddy’s running through the weekend.
For some good old fun and a festive atmosphere, get down to Darling Harbour for the Hoopla festival. Complete with a circus ‘big top’ tent and a variety of entertainment venues, there will be no shortage of performers, shows and entertainment for the entire family.
Hope to see you enjoying Sydney soon.
