Whats on in Sydney
Sydney is a beautiful city and a fantastic place to explore. With its eye-opening art, theatre and exhibitions, world class sporting events, amazing nightlife and cultural events, and stunning harbours and beaches, there is truly something for everyone.
Stylish New Look For Mercure Sydney
The four-star, George Street-located hotel is completing the final stages of a major renovation, with each of the hotel’s 517 rooms set to reveal a bright, contemporary new look by Spring 2013, re-stating its place as the precinct’s premier mid-market choice for both business and leisure travellers.
Accommodation rooms have adopted a fresh approach to styling, and feature a warm colour palette of purple and grey interiors with dark marble bench tops, creating a relaxed, yet contemporary look.
The sleek new rooms also feature new-look bathroom suites, including chic mirrors, glass shower screens, new basin fixtures and tiling, providing a dramatic face lift and energising the room’s vibe.
Hotel General Manager, Greg Brady said “The transformation of the hotel comes at a time when the Central Station area of Sydney is undergoing a remarkable renaissance. There is a remarkable energy in the area with new constructions such as the Frank Gehry building leading the way. There are new offices, restaurants and retail outlets opening all the time, and in the longer term, Central will once again become Sydney’s hub for a city tram service. The extensive refurbishment of the hotel is very well timed.”
