Some would say Sydney is quite famous for whale watching. The harbour city has two distinct whale watching seasons.

The first is when the humpbacks head north to reproduce, this is normally from May to August. The occurs later in the year when they return south with their new borns ahead of the Southern Hemisphere summer, typically from August to December.

It’s more likely that you will spot whales in the first season, due to a large number of them migrating along the New South Wales coastline. Be sure if you are visiting Sydney to book yourself a tour or head over to one of the many look out around the coast, don't forget you binoculars and a camera to capture all the beauty.
