Sydney locals favourite neighbourhood- Newtown

Newtown has become the heartbeat of Sydney’s trendy entertainment scene. This cool and quirky inner west suburb certainly won’t have you bored with its overabundance of creative street culture, drinking holes and vibrant shopping streets!

Experience Newtown like a local beginning at Brewtown Newtown where coffee is king with a plethora of pastries, sit back and absorb Newtown, the precinct that isn’t afraid to be itself!

Take a short 8 minute absorbing the lively local culture while on your way to the weekly Saturday neighbourhood markets, stalls are open 10am until 4pm. If the weather’s nice take your time weaving back through the streets getting a real taste of Newtown local life.  The walk should take you approximately a half hour, if you’re in a hurry Sydney’s bus and train services are easily navigated or taxis (call 131008) and Ubers are in abundance.

Last on your Newtown agenda is checking out a show at the famous Enmore Theatre! Pop down to our in house restaurant, four elements or grab a quick bite to eat in Eves bar before the show. If you haven’t already nailed our public transport (don’t worry, we still get lost most days) make contact with our friendly concierge team who will have you feeling confident in seconds that you won’t be lost! Famous acts such as Jimmy Barnes, Matt Corby and an array of comedians are regulars to the Enmore theatre so you won’t be short of choice! Be sure to stop off and indulge at the famous N2 Extreme Gelato located on King Street, Newtown before you come home.

After your jam packed day you can come rest at your Mercure Sydney home feeling like a Newtown local!
